History of The Farm

February 2nd, 1943. The day my Grandfather took over the tenancy of 200 acres of land in the Usk Valley known as Hardwick Farm. Situated at Abergavenny, the farm was established around a dairy herd of just 20 dairy shorthorn cows. This number grew to sixty over time, with the shorthorns remaining until 1970. Gradually, however, the change was made to the larger, more productive, pedigree Holstein Friesian breed.
